Tuna (Fresh)

Poseidon Group International offers fresh Bluefin Tuna (Thunnus orientalis) G&G from Ensenada, Mexico. Our bluefin tuna is farmed off the Pacific Coast of Ensenada in Baja California, Mexico. After being harvested, our ocean-fresh tuna is carefully chilled in raw condition and imported via fully-equipped trucks to the United States, keeping the freshness and quality to a maximum.

As the water stays cool, we are able to deliver a stable and consistent quality of delicious tuna throughout the year. Especially during the summer, while other countries' tuna farming waters warm up to 77 °F on average, the water temperature off Ensenada stays below 68 °F. Thus, there is no spawning activity, and our tuna quality becomes among the top in the world. During the summer in Ensenada sardines become rich in fat and are utilized as feed, resulting in the marbling and overall fat content of the tuna increasing. As a result this creates better quality in our fresh tuna.
